evening of cinema

Let me tell you how excited I am. Really, really, really, really, really, REALLY excited! Katie and I had originally planned to take today off to see a morning showing of The Road, then discuss what we'd seen over lunch, then see it again in the afternoon.

Yes, we like Viggo.

Alas, The Road was moved back to November 25th but we still wanted to see movies. Enter the Paranormal Activity fanaticism...with which I became ToTaLlY infected. I went to their website and voted for Birmingham with every email address that I have! And it's here! We bought our tickets online yesterday!

So, Zombieland at 3:20 and Paranormal Activity at 7:25

The Road, the book was bleak enough, I don't think I'll be able to stand the cinematic version.
Paranormal Activity, just heard about this from someone else. Might be too scary for the theater and may wait for the video. Not sure yet. Haven't seen any ads on tv.
Zombieland - can't wait to see this one!

I loved The Road but then post-apocalyptic, dystopian fiction is my favorite. With the addition of Viggo, it's golden!

As for Paranormal Activity, I am STILL having some uncomfortable moments at night when I go to bed. It was AwEsOmE!

Zombieland-See it NOW! See it OFTEN!

another friend told me Paranormal was ho hum until the last 10 minutes. I think I'll wait for the video.

I love post-apocalyptic as well... most recently read and loved - Alas, Babylon. I think I read it more than 4 years ago and it still seeps into my dreams. Other good ones, but read a million years ago - Canticle for Leibowitz, The Stand (of course), and On the Beach. Looks like I haven't read anything published after 1970's in this genre....besides the Road. What's new?
