wow.....

According to NASA:

This spectacular “blue marble” image is the most detailed true-color image of
the entire Earth to date. Using a collection of satellite-based observations,
scientists and visualizers stitched together months of observations of the land
surface, oceans, sea ice, and clouds into a seamless, true-color mosaic of every
square kilometer (.386 square mile) of our planet.

Visit their Visible Earth page for more images!

I am responding to my own post as an investigation of reported problems some of my friends have had in responding. Abrupt cut-offs in replying, strange colors that I cannot seem to remove in the heading, etc. So the comment box has obviously not cut me off yet...I wonder what the problem is??? Has the whole world gone mad? Why is the header of my blog burnt sienna-colored? Can noone rid me of the this bothersome tint?

It's so beautiful. Why do I have to share it with all those nincompoops?

you're right KP, it is beautiful.

7 continents, 7 people....sounds good to me but, in true stranded-on-a-deserted-island fashion, which continent would you take and who would occupy the other six??? Hmmmmm....
